Is the Kids’ Turn Workshop right for you?

It’s for

  • Any parent / caregiver going through separation or divorce and concerned with the well-being of their children.
  • Any parent / caregiver going through separation or divorce who wants new life skills to manage their new life circumstance.
  • Any parent / caregiver going through separation or divorce who want to successfully co-parent with reduced conflict.
  • Any foster parent, grandparent, stepparent or adult caregiver who wants to help a child ease through a parent’s / caregiver’s separation of divorce.

How it works

  • These workshops help children understand and express the difficult emotions associated with parental separation while teaching family members new ways to support affected children and manage their new life circumstance.
  • Parents pay tuition on a sliding fee basis and children are not charged.
  • Workshops are based on age of the child/ren.
  • Services are conducted locally in English.
  • This is a Family Court recognized co-parenting program.

Our goals are to

  • Help children cope with parental separation.

Help children to understand and cope with the loss, anger, and fear that often accompany familial separation.

  • Help family members support their children.

Help mothers, fathers and grandparents learn how to support their children and prevent at-risk behavior and teach the skills needed to understand the child’s perspective.

  • Support the diversity of participants.

Classes are conducted locally in English. Our participants include people from all types of families, including single-parent homes and alternative families.

  • Demystify and de-stigmatize the separation process.

Half of all U.S. marriages end in divorce or separation. Kids’ Turn promotes a healthy perspective and helps families understand that they are not alone.

Online Workshop

Open to families with children ages 0-17

4 Lessons
There is a fee to access this workshop

The format is informative, thoughtful, empowering offering relief and peace of mind to parents struggling with family conflict in their separation.  Many of the skills can be taught to youngsters once parents learn them. The material is based on the programs offered in workshops in The San Francisco Bay Area. Each lesson takes 30-40 minutes to complete (120 minutes for the entire program).  Lessons 2 and 4 have specialized information for parents of children under the age of five.

This curriculum is designed to:

  • help families ease through separation with reduced conflict
  • help parents co-parent successfully
  • help families during other, stressful life difficulties.

NOTE: If a Kids’ Turn workshop has been ordered or recommended by a judge or a mediator, make sure that online program is an authorized alternative to an in-person workshop.
