Latest Announcements

Safe & Sound is operating to provide emergency services. 

The Safe & Sound team is working remotely to provide rapid emergency response to our community, to the maximum extent and as safely as possible. 

  • Our TALK Line, 24-Hour Parental Stress Support Line, has expanded capacity. Please call 415-441-KIDS (5437) if you need support.
  • Our Children & Families Services Team has taken a need-assessment of our clients and is checking in with all current clients by phone and email to meet essential needs:
    • emergency crisis counseling
    • food & hygiene delivery
    • virtual counseling
    • parenting education

Financial contributions are needed now more than ever. Please consider making a contribution to help our community when they need it most. All donations are tax-deductible, and 100% of funds go directly to those in need.

Drop off Supplies

If you have unopened and unused goods at home, Safe & Sound staff are delivering emergency food & hygiene kits to clients. 

Drop offs are welcome at our Waller Street location (1757 Waller Street, San Francisco, CA 94117) on Tuesdays between 10 AM – 12 PM. Note that we cannot schedule outside of this time as we are trying to minimize contact between individuals. Please email us to coordinate:

Groceries & Food

  • Non-perishable items are best, including canned goods, dry beans, pasta, rice, soups & jarred items
  • Baby formula
  • Paper products such as tissues, napkins, paper towels, and toilet paper
  • Support local restaurants & businesses by purchasing gift cards and donate them to our families. Please email us to coordinate:

Personal Hygiene

  • Diapers (all sizes)
  • Feminine hygiene products (tampons)
  • Shampoos & conditioners
  • Hand sanitizers

Toys & Supplies

  • Arts & craft supplies
  • Games & puzzles

Stay Alert: Report Abuse


If you suspect that a child is being abused, contact your local child welfare agency. Make a confidential report anytime by calling the hotline at (415) 558-2650 (San Francisco) or (800) 4-A-CHILD (National).

You can find the contact number for other local child welfare agencies here.

If there is an emergency or you believe a child or someone in their household is in imminent danger, call 911.
