PROGRAMS

A-Teams

The Baltimore Community Foundation provides funding for A-Teams which are after school opportunities for middle school students to participate in intensive programs that provide them with regular opportunities to practice, master, and publicly demonstrate their academic, artistic, or athletic skills.

Boost

BOOST (Baltimore Out Of School Time) initiative is a school-based after school program for elementary or middle school students that operates five days a week, three hours per day. BOOST programs are collaborations between schools and after school programs. These collaborations support cost-effectiveness through utilization of school space and reduction of travel costs. A primary component of BOOST programs is academic enrichment that supports school-day instruction and addresses identified needs of participating students. Schools must be involved in program planning and support, particularly for the academic enrichment component.

BOOST High

BOOST High programs are after school programs for high school students that take into account the developmental needs of older youth that require structured programming, but more flexible hours of operation. BOOST High programs include skills development, job readiness training, and opportunities for students to participate in authentic experiences that prepare them for a career or higher education. Programs offer students opportunities to demonstrate mastery as well as offer exposure to post secondary education experiences.
